How to find the Reserve
By Road
The reserve is located south of the A40 Gloucester to Ross on Wye road between the turning for Longhope and May Hill. When travelling from towards Ross, around 300 m from the junction of the A40 with the road to May Hill, there is a small lane on the left-hand side of the road. When travelling from Ross towards Gloucester, the junction with the A40 is on the right hand side 300 m before the junction to May Hill.
On Foot
There is a permissive footpath running north to south through the reserve and it links at both ends with a public right of way through wooden kissing gates. Unfortunately, the nature of the terrain makes access with wheelchairs impossible.
If you bring your dog to the reserve please keep them on a lead between March and July to minimise the disturbance to ground nesting birds. Research has shown that one of the reasons for the decline in bird populations is their failure to raise young because of human and animal disturbance in the nesting season.
