Records
The Biodiversity
Maintaining and improving the biodiversity of the reserve are our principal objectives. In pursuit of these objectives, we need to monitor all the flora and fauna present on the reserve. We are fortunate that we have inherited a number of historical records mainly held by the Gloucestershire Centre for Environmental Records (GCER) that provide baseline data on which we can then judge our success or failure in maintaining and improving the biodiversity.
There are also records held by individuals who have a special interest in particular species, for example trapping and identifying moths. Two committee members have a licence to inspect and record the presence of dormice and another member of the committee is making detailed records of the plant species on the reserve. This monitoring is also supported by members of the Gloucestershire Naturalist Society (GNS).

Case Study

What’s currently happening in Air Pollution all around the world? AQI region-wise.
Planning and zoning are examples of mitigation actions, as are floodplain protection, property acquisition and relocation, and public outreach projects. Installing disaster warning systems, purchasing radio communications equipment, and conducting emergency response training are examples of preparedness actions. Disaster mitigation is at the heart of emergency management.

Human degradation of nature is the greatest challenge of the twenty-first century, yet it barely registers as a political issue. Environment solutions often create jobs & economic opportunities.
